eBooks
I heard an interesting story about Open Road Media on NPR today. When I got home the first thing I did was look up the story and visit Open Road’s website. As a bibliophile and writer, I am fascinated with how our traditional book publishing is moving to digital. Granted I still like hard cover books and enjoy perusing in book stores. However, I am enjoying the change and convenience of other reading sources.
What I am realizing is that I am fully embracing the digital age. I value how quickly I can access information, also how quickly I can share that information globally as well as locally. So I like the idea of eBooks. If you read the NPR excerpt you will see how eBook publishing actually helps authors. With very little overhead they are able to offer authors a greater percentage of revenue. Plus with social media they are able to get the word out about lesser known authors and books.
I really like this idea of having a broader choice and knowing about lesser known authors. After all, there are many fabulous writers that often go under the radar.
How do you feel about eBooks? Have you published an eBook?
While we are at it, take the poll below on the spelling of eBook. According to Google there is no right or wrong way.
Cheers, ~Alie

Hi. Thanks for visiting Just One Donna. I am in love with eBooks. I use a Sony reader now and LOVE it. I never thought I would want to give up traditional books, but digital is very convenient.
I took your poll. Its funny how technology changes spelling and grammar. I have not published an ebook, but I hope to one day!

I like the move to digital for a few reasons, but the main one (and probably most ridiculous) is that I get books from the library to save money, but the whole time I’m reading I keep thinking about the previous readers who probably didn’t wash their hands after using the bathroom. I have issues, LOL.

I literally laughed out loud when I read your comment because I am the same way with library books. I also think about bed bugs and all the news awhile back about how they are everywhere.
Thanks for stopping by!
